Planning (Ideas)

In our groups we was asked to start brainstorming a bunch of ideas that we could use/think might be ideal to use within our own opening. My group had a bunch of ideas. We all liked the idea of using an abandoned station or the woods as the setting for our opening. This will add the extra chill we need in our opening that will really make it a thriller.

Then we got to talking about what our fears were, our fears varied from spiders to crazy people and then we concluded that whatever we do we should try and expand on our own fears. By doing so the opening will seem more real and whoever is acting (if anyone is acting) the emotions shown will be real and not fake/over dramatised.

Another idea that we came up with was the play on innocence. It was figured that if we used a child in really frilly girly clothes and the colour white (representing innocence); but then added a twist on it like either something in her facial expression or the background music will signify that all is not as it seems similar to the movie 'Orphan'.

Furthermore the idea of making the opening seem realistic came up. Like how the camera was used in 'Paranormal Activity' we would use the amateur way of filming in order to decieve the audience, so that it seems real. This will hopefully add tot he opening in making the audience even more scared within the short duration of our opening. However after putting this idea forth, we were made aware that even though films use the 'amateur technique', everything is shot professionally and it will take alot for us to actually pull it off.

As well as the idea that someone can be disecting body organs in an abandoned old warehouse came across. This will also include pictures of people with missong body parts for eg eyes, being placed all around the walls etc. This will really help to create the feel of a psychological thriller that we hope to strive towards.
