Intertextuality

intertextuality is a way in which films uses others and incorporate them into their own, for effects and to help the audience connect with the situation in the film and for the film to become more understandable. for example scene to create suspense are very hard to create and some ways in which directors get around that is by using intertextuality for example the film psycho. the film psycho's shower scene is very famous and has been used many times in films such as the stepfather and a student version would be succubus.
