Summary Of Our Opening

The name of our opening is called 'Last Stop'. The reason as to why we chose to name our opening this is because it relates to what our opening is about. Firstly, our new and reconstructed film on a whole is about a girl (schoolgirl) who is still stuck living in the past (the time of World War 2). She has witnessed some traumatic acts in her time which has left her mentally scarred, leading to her now being mentally unstable. The time period of our film/opening is the twenty-first century (which is clearly demonstrated in the mise-en-scene of Cindy), however this girl is still stuck living in the past (hence the mise-en-scene used: gas mask and school uniform). As she is mentally unstable, she now haunts this train station (Angel Road Station) just killing anybody who comes by, she gets some kind of psychotic thrill from it.

Our opening (which is two minutes and three seconds long) basically just shows Cindy (the victim) coming into the station unaware of whats about to happen. She goes to the station to make her way home, and as she sits down waiting for the train she sees the mysterious psycho sitting on the bench further down. Baffled as to who she is, cindy moves down the bench to be further away from the psycho. However, when cindy looks again, the killer has suspiciously disappeared; only to re-appear besides her. Scared by this, she runs onto the other side of the platform. Out of breath and unaware that the crazy girl has already made her way to the platform, she rests thinking that its all over. That is until, the killer appears from behind the shelter and kills Cindy with no remorse in broad daylight.

Although it may not be 100% clear to the audience what the movie as a whole is about, this could somewhat be a good thing as it will draw the audience in and make them want to see the rest of the movie to find out.
